Albany police are investigating after the above video went viral. It shows an officer on a bicycle harassing a street performer and making all kinds of false claims to support the lie he intended to file as a report.
Officer Glenn Szelest has been placed on administrative duties as the investigation takes place. So he will continue to receive his paycheck until the “investigation” is completed. As we have documented many times here at CopBlock.org, internal investigations are rarely completely quickly. The justice system is swift when dealing with you and me, but drags its feet when it’s a cop under investigation.
You can plainly see in the video Szelest’s attempt to make the young people look aggressive in order to further impose his will on them. You can also see how the officer makes it look like the performer’s shirt is blocking what looks to be about 25 foot public sidewalk. Another false claim to justify his actions.
